How to Use Scripty – You've got two options

Managing your meds shouldn't give you a headache. To keep things running smoothly, you need to choose how your scripts land in your Scripty wallet. We've got two ways to do it "Add-as-you-go" or "Automatically with your Active Script List (ASL)" – pick the one that suits your vibe!

Why Do I Have Two Options?

Here’s the simple version: every time you get a script with repeats filled at the pharmacy, you get a new “token”— kind of like a fresh password that unlocks your next batch of medicine. We’d love to fetch those tokens for you every time, but we can only do that if you give us permission to connect to your official Active Script List (ASL).

If you don’t connect your ASL, you’ll need to add each new token yourself. This is really important because after your script is dispensed, you’ll get a new token for your next repeat, and Scripty won’t know about it unless you pop it in.

So, to help you stay sorted, you can pick the way that suits you best – either let us do the automatic fetching (with your permission), or add each token yourself as you get them.

TWO WAYS.png
Option 1: The "Add-as-you-go" Method

This is the manual approach – a better way than leaving your eScript swimming in your messages, but it does require a little bit of upkeep from your end.

How it works:
Whenever your doctor sends you a token via SMS or email, or your pharmacist dispenses and you get the next repeat, you add it to Scripty yourself. We cover more about how eScripts work here.

The rule:

  • You must add your next repeat token every single time.

  • When you get a script dispensed, the pharmacy software creates a new token for your next repeat. We can't see that new token automatically. You need to grab that new code and pop it into Scripty. If you forget, your wallet will look empty!

Best for:

  • People who only have a script now and then.

  • Users who prefer total manual control over what goes into their app.

  • You haven't had a chance to register and get your Active Script List activation code from your pharmacist.

Option 2: Connect Your Active Script List (ASL) for Automatic Updates

This is the "set and forget" method. It’s the easiest way to keep your script wallet sorted without lifting a finger.

How it works:
You give Scripty permission to fetch your Active Script List (ASL). Once you're connected, we can see your profile and automatically pull in your scripts.

To set this up:

You’ll need to ask your Pharmacist to set you up and give you your ASL code. One-time only. We cover more about ASL here.

Why this is recommended:
When you get a script dispensed, the new repeat token automatically pops up in Scripty ready for next time. Or when your doctor issues you new scripts – it will be in Scripty! No more scrolling through eScript messages, no stress. It’s all just... there.

Best for:

  • Anyone taking regular and multiple medications.

  • People who want peace of mind knowing their scripts are always up to date.

  • Great for parents and carers managing meds for their family. You can connect to ASL profiles in Scripty.

May doesn’t stress about losing escripts anymore

When I first started using Scripty, it was a bit confusing seeing different text messages and my script marked as 'Dispensed' in Scripty. I thought my repeats were lost!

I soon realised I just needed to add the text message for my next repeat. But the real game-changer was connecting my Active Script List (ASL) with a little help from my pharmacy. Now, Scripty is so good! It automatically adds all my new scripts and repeats. Everything is in one place, and I don't have to think about it.
