How to stay prepared with your Medications before natural disasters or extreme weather conditions

With natural disasters or severe weather events on, there's already enough on your plate. But let's tick medications off your worry list! Being prepared can offer a big sigh of relief. Scripty paired with My Script List (MySL) or Active Script List (ASL), is here to help you and your family keep essential medications organised and within easy reach, come rain or shine.

How to Stay On Top of Things

Keep Scripty Updated

Regularly check your Scripty app, especially when you're travelling or alerted to upcoming bad weather conditions. This simple action can be make a difference keeping your scripts info up-to-date and handy.

Even without internet, your most recent Scripty data, including MySL info, won't go anywhere. You'll still have access to the last known details of your prescriptions, including MySL, right in the app.

Give My Script List a Try

If you haven't linked up Scripty with MySL yet, now's an ideal time. My Script List contains a list of all your active scripts – it will include any new scripts issued by your doctor or the next repeat tokens after you get them dispensed. It also means you don't have to worry about managing individual eScript tokens via SMS messages. We promise you, its a game changer!Just get in touch with your local pharmacy for an activation code, and once set up in Scripty, you're all set.

This setup provides two major benefits:

  • For the Pharmacy – They can see your active scripts. So if your eScript tokens go missing or you can't get into the Scripty app – they can still dispense your medication or update you on your prescription status.

  • For You – MySL keeps all your prescriptions together in Scripty, making it incredibly handy when you need info quickly. It puts you more in control, with your scripts visible in one place! You can share your scripts with others, or inform any new healthcare professionals the list of meds you are taking.

Quick Med Checks

Take a moment to determine if you require any medications in the upcoming week or if you have any last repeats and have not scheduled a visit to your doctor. Telehealth services are available if you're unable to consult your regular doctor. Before prescribing you meds, they want to see your script history – if they cannot access your script history or MySL on their systems, you can also share it with them through Scripty.

Healthdirect Australia

Healthdirect is also a great free resource – it is a free, government-funded service that provides health information and advice 24/7. It has features like:

  • Symptom Checker: Helps you understand your symptoms and decide if you should see a doctor or go to the emergency department

  • After-hours GP helpline: Provides medical advice and support when your GP is closed

  • Service Finder: Helps you find local health services, including general practices, pharmacies, and vaccination clinic

Managing Medications When Disaster Strikes

Offline? No Problem

Should the internet go AWOL, Scripty's got your back with offline access. It'll show your medications and prescriptions as of the last update with MySL, ensuring you're never out of the loop.

Your Pharmacy Can Help

Don’t forget, your pharmacy can access your My Script List with your say-so, ready to lend a hand. You can set this up with any pharmacy – it just takes confirming your identity and giving them a thumbs-up to access your MySL.

Keep Up with Your Pharmacy's Socials

Pharmacies might update their social media faster than their websites in critical times. Follow them, and jot down their contact details on paper (in case your battery goes flat!)

Getting to know with how Scripty and MySL work together ensures you're ready for anything the weather throws your way, letting you focus on what really matters.

Stay safe, Australia!
