How to Talk to Your Pharmacy About Using Scripty

Pharmacies process script orders from multiple channels – in-store, by phone, email, paper scripts from patients, scripts from doctors, and even online orders through their websites, apps, or partner services. It's safe to say they have a lot on their plate.

If you’ve been loving how Scripty helps you manage your scripts and are thinking about sending your orders directly to your pharmacy through the app, you might hesitate. What if they say no? Or worse, what if they’re unsure and dismiss the idea altogether?

Don’t worry. It’s totally understandable for pharmacies to be cautious about adding another method for receiving script orders. However, there are easy, respectful ways to start the conversation and show them how Scripty can fit in without making their work harder.

Here’s how you can get the ball rolling:

1. Pick the Right Moment

Timing is everything. Try to approach your pharmacy during a quieter time of day when staff aren’t as rushed. This gives them a chance to hear you out without feeling overwhelmed.

2. Start the Conversation With a Positive Tone

Begin on a friendly and open note. Try saying something like, “Hi, I’ve been using this app, Scripty, to manage my scripts, and it’s made everything so much easier for me. I was wondering if I could send my orders to your pharmacy through it?”

Once you’ve introduced the topic, show them the app and how you could send them orders if their pharmacy is listed. You can also point them to Scripty’s Pharmacy page. This page answers pharmacy-specific questions, explains how Scripty works, and offers extra reassurance about its benefits. Sharing this resource can provide clarity and save staff from feeling overwhelmed with the details.

3. Reassure Them That It's Simple

A common concern is whether using a new app means extra effort, complicated systems, or fees. Here’s where you can ease their worries! Explain that pharmacies will need to sign up to be listed in Scripty, but the good news is there’s no subscription cost or complex integrations required. Orders come through simply and conveniently.

They just need to fill out the 'List My Pharmacy' form to get started.

4. Share How Scripty Helps Both Sides

Show them how Scripty makes things smoother for both you and their pharmacy. For example:

  • Thanks to Active Script List (ASL), the app makes it easier to know when your scripts are due for next refill, saving everyone time.

  • When the pharmacy marks your order as “completed,” you’ll get a notification through Scripty, so there’s no awkward back-and-forth about whether it’s ready.

5. Offer Support, Not Pressure

If they seem interested but unsure, say something like, “If you’d like, I can give you the app’s details so you can try the app yourself or connect you with their support team to answer any questions.” Even better if you offer to test out orders with them once they're listed.

Feel free to share feedback with the Scripty team, and we’ll do what we can to help.

6. Be Patient and Supportive

Change doesn’t happen overnight. If they need time to consider the idea or discuss it with their team, be understanding. Offer to circle back later to see how they feel or answer any questions they might have.

Why It’s Worth the Chat

At its core, Scripty is about making life easier – not just for you, but for the pharmacy too. If they’re on board, it makes it easier for them to support you in choosing your app of choice! Taking the time to talk to your pharmacy about using Scripty is not only respectful but also increases the chances they’ll be open to it.

At the end of the day, your pharmacist is there to help you stay healthy and safe, and a quick, friendly conversation can go a long way toward showing them how Scripty makes things easier and stress-free for you. Give these tips a try, and hopefully, you’ll be sending script orders through your favourite app in no time!
